Topic and Speaker Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Got Pus?

Educational Objectives: At the end of this activity, Pharmacists should be able to:
  1. Review pertinent diagnostics, classification, and epidemiology of SSTIs.
  2. Discuss optimal antimicrobial therapy based on clinical presentation.
  3. Identify indications for empiric therapy for MRSA and/or Gram negative organisms.
  4. List indications for utilizing clindamycin therapy.
At the end of this activity, Technicians should be able to:
  1. Review pertinent diagnostics, classification, and epidemiology of SSTIs.
  2. Discuss optimal antimicrobial therapy based on clinical presentation.
  3. Recall indications for empiric therapy for MRSA and/or Gram negative organisms.
  4. Examine indications for utilizing clindamycin therapy.

Pharmacy continuing education credit will be earned based on participation in this activity. Attendance and participation are required before obtaining credit. Any individual who is more than 10 minutes late to an activity or leaves an activity early will not be granted credit. To receive continuing education credit, your attendance must be verified, and a program evaluation must be completed and submitted at the end of the program.

Participants have a maximum of 45 days post-event to request or confirm their credit issuance. No credit will be issued more than 60 days post-event.
