Topic and Speaker "SEDATION: Sedation Education Demonstrating Advances in The Intensive Care and Perioperative Settings"

Educational Goal: The France Foundation, a continuing medical education company, has identified through a needs assessment that there is a strong need to educate clinicians to better understand and integrate into their clinical practice new information about agents used for sedation management.uto-style8">Objectives:

The main educational objectives of the program for pharmacistsThe main educational objectives of the program for pharmacists are:

1) Manage adult patients who need sedation and analgesia while receiving ventilator support according to current standards and guidelines

2) Use validated scales for sedation, pain, agitation, and delirium in the management of these critically ill patients

3) Assess recent clinical findings in sedation and analgesia management and incorporate them into the management of patients in the acute care, procedural, and surgical sedation settings

Target audience: pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy and pharmacy technician students planning on working in health-system pharmacies

The France Foundation is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education and will award 0.1 CEU to pharmacists who attend the activity and complete the registration and evaluation forms. There is no fee to participate in this activity. This is a knowledge-based activity. Statements of credit will be sent within 4-6 weeks.
